Legacy of Lilith Fair is a celebration of the music and artists from and inspired by the groundbreaking concert tour, Lilith Fair. Created in the late 1990s, the tour challenged conventional beliefs in the music industry about the value and worth of female musicians. Act One features songs from founder, Sarah McLachlan along with Paula Cole, Sheryl Crow, The Chicks, Bonnie Raitt, Tracy Chapman, Pat Benatar, Indigo Girls and more.
The Second Act journeys through the 25 years that followed, showcasing current artists who benefitted from the prowess and bravery of the female pioneers of the Lilith era such as Brandi Carlile, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Paramore, Sara Bareilles, P!nk and more.
The incredibly talented Twin Cities cover band, Pandora’s Other Box, along with a few additional friends, will entertain you with their superb musicianship, creative visuals and infectious chemistry.
The Legacy of Lilith Fair Band
Tristana had the honor of attending all three years of the original Lilith Fairs while living in Los Angeles. Even though she was working at Universal Music Publishing, at 20th Century Fox in the Film Music Department and had her own music supervision and licensing business, she had become so disenchanted as a working vocalist, she had stopped performing completely. What she experienced at Lilith Fair gave her renewed hope for what was possible for female musicians. Creating and performing Legacy of Lilith Fair is her attempt to educate others on the importance of this revolutionary festival, honor those who were a part of it and to celebrate those who have benefitted and carried the legacy forward.
TRISTANA WARD - Vocals
Leia Ward is thrilled to be joining POB as a background vocalist for Legacy of Lilith Fair. Music has always been a passion of hers but ultimately performing on stage took a back seat to a career in education. Thus, when her sister asked her if she was interested in joining this project, her immediate response was, “I’ve been waiting over 30 years for this”. Leia’s vocal harmonies add beautiful layers and depth to each song she performs.
LEIA WARD - Background vocals
While Heather’s early career objective was to be a Solid Gold dancer, she took the global business path instead. Yet, whenever a musical opportunity presents itself, she jumps at it! She is honored to be a part of Legacy of Lillith Fair, which beautifully honors the talented and courageous women that once comprised and continue to add to the soundtracks of many of our lives.
HEATHER ANDREWS - Background vocals
Cierra Hill is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and educator, currently residing in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. She began studying music on the piano at the age of 2 and violin/fiddle lessons at the age of 9. Cello lessons were soon to follow at the age of 12 and since then, she has also learned to play viola, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and guitar. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree from McNally Smith in 2012, Cierra has kept busy as a full-time freelance musician, performing often with many great local bands in the region and touring with artists from around the world. When she’s not on stage performing, she spends her time teaching, arranging, composing and recording. A life full of music!
CIERRA HILL - Violin & Mandolin
Mitch first picked up a guitar when he was eight years old. Influenced by blues, rock, and country music from his parents’ old records, Mitch has developed a very unique playing style. He has performed with various bands throughout the Midwest, playing at weddings, festivals, and fairs. As a chiropractor by day, he enjoys the opportunity to play music in front of others on nights and weekends.
MITCH MELOHN - Guitar
Since graduating from McNally Smith in 2013, Joel Thielman has been playing keyboards professionally as a solo act and in bands around the Twin Cities. He has been trained in classical and jazz but recently finds himself playing almost exclusively with rock groups. Joel prides himself on being able to hold down a solid groove and complement whatever is happening on top of the rhythm section... until it's time to solo. Then it's game on (with lots of notes!)
JOEL THIELMAN - Keys
Having started on piano and guitar, he picked up the bass as a teenager and has stuck with it ever since. He majored in Bass Performance at McNally Smith College of Music and has played gigs across the country with multiple bands and theater productions, performing everywhere from small clubs to large theaters and festivals. When he's not holding down the low end, he works as a software engineer and dabbles in photography.
DAN BRAKKE - Bass
Zach Brawford has been performing with a variety of acts for the last two decades between Wisconsin and Minnesota: Musical Theatre, Jazz, Rock, Country, Orchestral, etc. Being called for a multitude of genres has provided opportunities for National and International touring, including an opportunity to travel overseas to Djibouti Africa and Amman Jordan to perform for the US Military. Having studied both music composition and performance (both classical and contemporary), composing and arranging are strong passions as well. Outside of music, he loves spending time with his wife, children, and doggo — as well as enjoying a good Old Fashioned or Rusty Nail while the smoker is rolling out some delicious, carnivorous treats!
